Jack Flaherty’s Mom Posted Adorable Photo From Childhood That Foreshadowed New Team
Pitcher Jack Flaherty was picked up by the Tigers on a one-year, $14 million deal on Wednesday.
His mother, Eileen Flaherty, revealed after the news broke that the move was a childhood dream come true for Flaherty. She posted a photo of her and her son while he was sporting a Tigers jersey when he was younger.
“@Jack9Flaherty who knew that when this picture was taken, you would get the opportunity to play for the @tigers,” his mother wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “18 years later…you’ve arrived.”
MLB fans loved the old family photo as it made the rounds on social media.
Flaherty will be joining a Tigers team that went 78–84 in the 2023 season.
After making his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 2017, Flaherty stayed with the team until Aug. 1 of this year when he was traded to the Orioles. Before being traded, Flaherty went 7-6 with a 4.43 ERA in 20 starts. He made seven starts with Baltimore and posted a 6.75 ERA.
