Ashley Kelly really wanted Shohei Ohtani to sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The wife of pitcher Joe Kelly launched a viral campaign titled “Ohtake17,” offering her husband’s No. 17 jersey number to Ohtani if he were to sign with the Dodgers in free agency. She also joked that the couple would change their child’s name from “Kai” to “ShoKei.”

Of course, Ohtani did sign with the Dodgers, and whether or not the Kellys played a role, the Japanese phenom went out of his way to show his appreciation.

This weekend, the Kellys opened their front door to see a brand new Porsche sitting in front of their house.

Ohtani gifted the Porsche to Ashley in response to her campaign. But she couldn’t believe her eyes at first.

Kelly is indeed giving up No. 17 to Ohtani. Kelly instead will wear No. 99. Ashley Kelly posted videos of her replacing the numerals on her husband’s jerseys to his new number.

Ohtani agreed to a 10-year, $700 million deal with the Dodgers on Dec. 9.
