Former MLB shortstop and third baseman Alex Rodriguez is presumably enjoying life as a part owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, given that the NBA franchise is tied for the best record in the Western Conference at 39–17.

However, it wasn’t his stewardship of the Timberwolves that Rodriguez made headlines for during Minnesota’s 112–107 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night.

During the game, Rodriguez conducted an interview with ESPN while sitting courtside. Many fans took notice of the fact Rodriguez looked starkly different from his usual appearance.

On Saturday, Rodriguez took to social media to address the situation, responding to a comment that suggested “he got really tan overnight.”

“Alright, everybody. I know that I’m dark, but I am Dominican, and I went on vacation,” Rodriguez said, suppressing a chuckle. “And I fell asleep. In the sun. So everybody calm down.”

Given the lack of sun this time of year in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, perhaps Timberwolves fans can be forgiven for their confusion.
