Mets’ Sean Manaea Cut His Hair for First Time in Four Years, and MLB Fans Had Thoughts
New York Mets pitcher Sean Manaea shocked the MLB world Sunday when he revealed a haircut and clean shave. Manaea hadn’t cut his hair in four years and was well known for his long locks but decided his new team deserved a new look, and MLB fans had many thoughts on social media.
Manaea was nearly unrecognizable without his bushy beard and hair that went down past his shoulders. Instead of the long curls, Manaea sported a fade and a smooth face when talking to reporters and explained that the decision to finally get the trim was “pretty impulsive.”
He simply added, “I thought it was time.”
Manaea, 32, signed a two-year contract with the Mets in January after opting out of the second year of his contract with the San Francisco Giants to become a free agent. He sported a 4.44 ERA in 2023 and will be looking for a fresh start in New York.
That being said, some fans are going to have a hard time adjusting to the fresh face. Here are some of the best reactions to Manaea’s new look:
