Marlins’ Nick Gordon Offers Hottest Take of Spring Training: ‘The Moon Isn’t Real’
Miami Marlins utility man Nick Gordon sat down for a spring training interview with Bally Sports on Thursday, during which he offered a bizarre hot take that left interviewer Jeremy Taché in utter disbelief.
When Gordon was asked what the “wildest take that you honestly believe” is, the 28-year-old didn’t hesitate to publicly declare that he is not a believer in the moon.
“The moon ain’t real,” Gordon said. “The moon. The whole moon.
“The earth and the moon. Gravitational pull,” he said while gesturing with his hand. “The moon is way too close, bro. It’s way too close. ... Sometimes, go outside. Look up at night, and you will not see the moon sometimes. Bro, you gotta see the sun or the moon!”
Taché, understandably, wasn’t quite ready to buy into Gordon’s audacious theory about the existence of the moon, though the former first-round pick seemed adamant that he was correct.
“Now that I’ve told you, though, you’re gonna notice, watch. At night, just start looking up, you're gonna be like, ‘What?’” added Gordon.
Gordon is in his first season with the Marlins, having spent the previous three years with the Minnesota Twins. Across 34 games in 2023, he recorded a .503 OPS with two home runs and seven RBI.
