Sometimes in life you have to adjust on the fly and do whatever it takes to stay safe. And by life, we mean baseball.

Kansas City Royals center fielder Garrett Hampson knows what we're talking about.

Hampson seemed like he was going to be an easy out on the base paths thanks to a nice pickoff move by New York Mets starting pitcher Alec Marsh. But instead of giving up and just getting tagged out, Hampson got creative and pulled off a tricky move of his own, as he left Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor in the dust and dove safely into second base.
