White Sox Roasted by MLB Fans Over Embarrassing Rundown vs. Phillies

The White Sox, owners of MLB's worst record, put up another lowlight on Sunday.

The Chicago White Sox lost their third straight game on Sunday, an 8-2 defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. The loss drops their record to 3-18, the worst mark in MLB.

The White Sox certainly looked the part of a team with such a record during one particular sequence in the bottom of the first inning. With runners on first (Bryce Harper) and third (Trea Turner), Chicago pitcher Nick Nastrini struck out J.T. Realmuto just as Harper attempted to steal second base.

Chicago appeared to be in business when Harper got stuck in a rundown, but the Phillies star stalled just long enough, allowing Turner to break for home plate.

White Sox second baseman Lenyn Sosa then hurled the ball past catcher Martin Maldanado, resulting in Turner scoring and Harper sliding into second base safely.

It was a disastrous sequence for Chicago, and MLB fans let them have it on social media.

Chicago will look to right the ship in a four-game series against the Minnesota Twins, beginning on Monday night.
