Angels Outfielder Summarizes Team Strategy This Season: 'Scared Money Don’t Make Money'

In this story:

The Los Angeles Angels entered this season without the services of two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani for the first time in six years. The team still has star outfielder Mike Trout, but without Ohtani, things may get a little messy.

The team has some talent on the roster, but they aren't expected to do much this year. While they believe that they can compete within the American League, they do face an uphill climb.

Angels outfielder Mickey Moniak summarized the strategy of the team entering the season. He isn't afraid of making noise and neither is the rest of the roster.

“Scared money don’t make money,” Moniak said. “If you don’t try it, you’re not gonna know if you can do it. If you don’t have the confidence you’re going to be able to do it, it’s going to hinder you a little bit. We know that’s going to be a huge part of our game going forward this season.”

The only way that the Angels will succeed this year is by sticking together. Everyone is counting them out, but each year, we see teams who shock the world. Maybe the Angels can be the shock of the baseball world in 2024, but they will have to prove it out on the field.
