Angels at Padres: Lineups, Predictions, and More
The Los Angeles Angels will take on the San Diego Padres on Friday for their next Cactus League game.
On the Angels side, 24-year-old Reid Detmers is expected to get the pitching start. After an inconsistent 2023 season, Detmers will look to get 2024 started on a high note in Spring Training.
For the Padres, Randy Vásquez will get the start. This is the first season Vásquez is with San Diego, having previously played for the New York Yankees.
How to Watch
Angels-Padres will begin at 12:10 p.m. PT. Angels fans can tune into the game on Bally Sports West or listen on the radio on KLAA 830. Padres fans can watch on MLB.com.
Lineups
Ehire Adrianza will bat first followed by Mickey Moniak, Jo Adell, Hunter Dozier, Logan O'Hoppe, Miguel Sanó, Willie Calhoun, Jordyn Adams and Kyren Paris.
Predictions:
The Angels have looked good through Spring Training so far under new manager Ron Washington. While the Padres started their Cactus League games on a rough note, they've won four out of their last five and looked a lot better.
Both teams have good reasons to believe they'll win, but the Padres could steal this game from the Angels thanks to Vásquez. He had two shutout innings in his first Cactus League start this season. Without Mike Trout hitting, it might be tough for the Angels to pull away in this one.
Angels 3, Padres 4
More:
Of the batters in today's lineup, Ehire Adrianza leads the Angels with the most home runs in Spring Training with two. Hunter Dozier has also hit one home run through the Cactus League so far.
