Last year's American League MVP is looking to wrap up this year's race very soon. Some people believe that he already has the award won.

Shohei Ohtani has been the best player in baseball this season and it hasn't been close.

The two-way superstar leads the Angels in almost every statistical category, both hitting and pitching.

Due to his dominance, Angels broadcaster Wayne Randazzo, has already proclaimed Ohtani to be this season's MVP.

“I’ve never seen an MVP award solidified in June,” said Randazzo. “There’s no way anybody [else] can win the MVP this year in the American League.”

Although a broadcaster for the Angels who covers Ohtani everyday could be biased, there are many people who think the same.

Currently the odds for Ohtani to win the American League MVP is -1400 with the next closest player having a 35-to-1 chance of winning.

This season, Ohtani leads the American League in home runs, second in RBIs and hits, and fourth in batting average. And that's just his hitting stats.

On the mound, Ohtani has the second most strikeouts, ninth most wins and tenth best ERA.

Randazzo's comments came after Ohtani had one of the best games in his career.

On Tuesday Ohtani recorded a 3-4 night with two home runs. He then went on to the mound and struck out 10 batters in 6.1 innings while giving up one run.

The league has never seen anything like Ohtani before and he will continue to a  perennial MVP candidate no matter what team he plays for.
