Your Los Angeles Angels did not get outright embarrassed in their 7-3 loss against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday but they came pretty close to it. They were only able to record five hits the entire night, struggled on defense down the stretch, and the pitching was a mess early on.

LA still has the opportunity to win the series but these types of losses are what make life so much harder for them. Next up, they will have to face the Houston Astros as they roll into the weekend and there is no room for errors right now.

One of the few things to look back on and smile about is the fact that Taylor Ward started the game off great with a home run in the first inning and that will do wonders for his confidence as of late.

Unfortunately, it was very clear that the fourth inning was where all came crashing down for the Halos and it was mainly due to Tyler Anderson, who started on the mound for LA.

He gave up two huge doubles and then an error from Gio Urshela led to the Angels going from up 3-1 to down 6-3 just like that. Anderson already had struggled in previous starts but this was one of his worst games yet as he allowed a total of six runs and had to be pulled after four innings.

Team manager Phil Nevin has had to address the media countless times this season and plenty have been about a struggling player after a poor performance.

However, Nevin stuck to his own code and defended Anderson despite him playing a big role in losing the game.

"You're usually facing the middle of the order there in the fourth," said Nevin. "He just left some pitches up, he's pitched well lately, a lot better. I think today was just a little hiccup."(Via Bally Sports West)

Let's indeed hope that this performance was just a hiccup as the Angels must win as many games as possible.
