The announcement comes just a season after Pujols retired from the game and he will be consulting with Major League Baseball on a multitude of topics. These include player relations and issues regarding his home county of the Dominican Republic.
I couldn't be more excited for this next chapter of my career. Commissioner Manfred and I share the same passion for growing the game in the Dominican Republic and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together. I'm also grateful for the opportunity to join the MLB Network family. I've been a huge fan since the very beginning and can't wait to get started."

During his playing days, Pujols was beloved around the game and was a favorite member of the clubhouse. This move makes sense on a lot of different levels and it also allows Pujols to remain closely involved in the game he loves.
In addition, the legend will serve as an on-air analyst for MLB Network and will have the chance to once again, entertain fans all across the game. The field misses Pujols for not only his talent but his personality so this is a welcome sight and a position that he has earned.
