Angels News: Anthony Rendon Avoids All Questions Involving Fan Altercation in Media Session
The Los Angeles Angels opted to postpone their normal morning media session until just under two hours before their game on Saturday. They had important matters to discuss surrounding Anthony Rendon's ongoing investigation.
Rendon is taking a lot of heat right now following a physical confrontation with an Oakland Athletic's fan and we have yet to know the full details from his end. This continues as he had the opportunity to tell his side of the story but neglected to give any insight when reporters asked him about the situation on Saturday.
"Anthony Rendon took about 5-6 questions. Said he couldn’t comment to all of them, then walked away."
"Perry Minasian and Phil Nevin also said they couldn’t comment."
"They cited investigations but some of the questions wouldn't have been related to the investigation."

The fact that this whole matter has become an investigation for both the MLB and the Oakland Police Department makes it 10x harder for Rendon to speak on his own behalf. While it is still a very fresh and unknown altercation, anything he says to the public can be held against him.
The fan that was involved has yet to share any information as well and we are not sure if Rendon's claims that he used profanity towards him are true. A new video surfaced Saturday morning showing what led up to the interaction and we can see the fan saying something to Rendon which leads to the violent reaction.
Both the GM and team manager of the Angels stayed quiet as well for likely the same reasons. At this point, we likely won't get any solid answers until the investigations are concluded.
However, it does look Rendon will still suiting up for the Halos in their Saturday match.
