The Los Angeles Angels have a lot riding on this season and outside of the All-Star level production that they will be receiving from Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, they are already challenging the rest of their roster to step up and make an impact.

The Halos haven't had a bad start to 2023 but everybody within the franchise knows they can be much better. It is worth noting that there is a lot to adjust such as new rules with the pitch clock and shift ban, offseason additions that are getting accustomed to the culture, and many other things.

However, one bright spot that many fans were looking forward to was the fact that Anthony Rendon was finally going to suit up for them again. The former All-Star had previously proven to be one of the best sluggers and third baseman in the game and that led to a seven-year contract with LA.

The first two years of the multi-million dollar deal were plagued by injuries for Rendon and the fanbase felt cheated in a way. However, he spoke to the Los Angeles Times and spoke on whether or not he has the ability to maintain his physical health.

"I think at times I have the ability to be, right?” Rendon said. “I mean, I’ve been playing this game [in the majors] for, 10, 11 years, whatever it’s been, and it’s definitely taken a toll on my body.“I think my body’s just aging and I got to figure out a new way of how to battle the season. Just how to prepare myself each and every day and how do I recover back home when I’m not here at the field. Just making diet decisions and whatnot, trying to keep myself in the best position to be ready every day."

Rendon has already had a crazy start to 2023 outside of baseball reasons but he is back into the lineup and ready to show the Halos what he's got.
