Angels News: Anthony Rendon Yanked in 6th Inning of Cleveland Showdown
Your Los Angeles Angels came into their Saturday match against the Cleveland Guardians looking to take care of business once again and hopefully go back-to-back.
Mickey Moniak got them off to a hot start with a home run in his very first at-bat of the season on his birthday! Shohei Ohtani and Anthony Rendon would then go on to get some big RBI's to give LA a slight 3-2 lead heading into the seventh. Rendon's was a sacrifice fly and Ohtani's was a double
However, team manager Phil Nevin then opted to pull out Anthony Rendon amidst a slew of moves in the sixth inning.
"Anthony Rendon was removed from the game when the Angels brought in reliever Chris Devenski for Reid Detmers. Luis Rengifo is at 2B. Urshela went to 3B with Drury at 1B."

Up to this point, Rendon had stepped up to the plate twice and had no runs or hits. There is still no exact reason as to why he was taken out so early.
"Final line on lefty Reid Detmers: 5+ IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 Ks. He threw 83 pitches.

up 3-2. Still no word on why Anthony Rendon left the game."

UPDATE:
We have now received word that left groin tightness is the reason as to why Rendon exited the match with three innings still left to play.
Big thank you to Rhett Bollinger for all of the timely updates!

We hope that this is nothing serious considering that Rendon was finally looking to have his first fully healthy season with the Halos.
