Fans of the Los Angeles Angels have been waiting very patiently for the return of Jared Walsh in 2023. He has yet to appear in the big league roster due to a tough battle with neurological symptoms.

Walsh was never given an exact diagnosis but when he finally opened up about his health troubles, he revealed that insomnia, severe headaches, and issues with everyday tasks all plagued him coming into this season. He had been struggling with these side effects for a couple of years before finally seeking professional help.

However, the first baseman is finally on the field again and even though it's not with the Halos just yet, he is on track to be back very soon.

Walsh revealed that he was finally sleeping normally again and taking part in his training so the Angels decided it would be best for him to start a rehab assignment in AAA and slowly work his way back to the official roster.

He played with the Salt Lake Bees on Friday and Saturday and garnered two hits and one run in his give at-bats.

“He felt great,” Nevin said. “He did say his timing was way off, but (I said), ‘Yeah, you haven’t played baseball in a long time.’ That’s the least of our worries. He came out feeling great and he woke up feeling great.”

LA has also been subject to some huge catcher rotational issues as of late and it's mainly due to Chad Wallach going down with a neck strain soon after Logan O'Hoppe's shoulder surgery.

The team has been in shambles recently trying to figure out who else can carry the load with a thriving Matt Thaiss but it's looking like Wally will be back far sooner than most initially expected.

"Nevin said catcher Chad Wallach (concussion) has a “good chance” to come off the seven-day injured list Monday when the Angels start their next series in Baltimore."

LA has just lost three straight series so hopefully these two can come back soon and provide a huge spark!
