The Angels are in the midst of one of the better seasons that they have had in a while. They find themselves right in the thick of things for a potential playoff spot and they need to keep winning in order to stay in contention. It’s crucial that they keep grabbing wins because of the impending free agency of superstar two-way player Shohei Ohtani. If the team wants to keep him beyond this season, they must show him that they will do whatever it takes to win games.

The Angels are full of talent across their roster but injuries can also play a role in the plans of the team. Lately, the organization has been in a mini slump of late and they got some unpleasant but hopeful news on injured player Brandon Drury. Drury was injured as he went for a ground ball earlier in the week.

Drury has been a great signing for the Angels this season, averaging .277 with 14 home runs and 45 runs batted in. Drury has been a consistent force for the Angels lineup this season so his absence will likely hurt the team.

Luckily for the Angels, the All-Star break is next week so they shouldn't be without Drury for too long. But now that he will remain out until after the All-Star festivities, the Angels will need others to step up in his place. They will miss his bat but making sure that he is good to go for the stretch run is crucial.

With a roster that has two of the best players in the game on it, the Angels have no excuses here. They need to go all-in and add to this team as the trade deadline approaches. Not only is this season in the balance but the future of Ohtani as well. That itself is worth being aggressive when it comes to trades.

Hopefully Drury can get back soon and continue being a rockstar for this Angels team!
