The Los Angeles Angels haven't always had the best offensive spurts through their 2023 season thus far but they have seen their fair share of hits leave the park.

LA currently sits at seventh in the MLB in 2023 with 17 home runs. Majority of fans would expect either Shohei Ohtani or Mike Trout to be leading the team in that category and while they both have connected on three, it is the rookie Logan O'Hoppe that stands at the top of the squad with four.

However, Brett Philips hopes to join that list very soon. He has yet to even record a hit but he is finding different ways to contribute despite not shining in that regard. The Halos prevailed over the Washington Nationals in large part thanks to Philips' outfield play and stolen bases.

But he'd be lying if he didn't want to record a bomb of his own very soon and he shared a special request in Wednesday's post-game conference.

"Brett Phillips has been the guy putting the homer helmet on hitters after they hit one out. When Phillips hits one, he said he wants Phil Nevin to put it on his head. "I'm going to get down on one knee when I hit that first homer and I'm going to have Phil put it on my head."

I'm sure that Phil Nevin will be thrilled to see yet another one of his guys find success at-bat. The new home run hat will only become more legendary.
