Following this year's trade deadline, the Angels farm system took a hit as the team became big buyers.

The impact of the trades that brought Randall Grichuk, Lucas Giolito, C.J. Cron and others have been seen with the latest MLB prospect rankings. The Angels only have one player in MLB Pipeline's newest top 100 prospects.

Logan O'Hoppe made the cut as he was ranked the 31st best prospect in the league. Even though he is eligible to be on the list, O'Hoppe has seen some playing time already.

After make the Opening Day roster, O'Hoppe was one of the best rookies in the league for the first month of the season.

In 16 games he slashed .283/.339/.547 with an OPS of .886. His hot start to the season abruptly ended after suffering a torn labrum injury that still has him on the sidelines.

O'Hoppe is currently rehabbing with Single-A Inland Empire and is expecting to be back with the Halos soon.

It appears that this will be the last time that O'Hoppe cracks the top 100 prospect list. When he leaves, that will leave the Angels with no one on the list.

This could be a big problem for LA's future. The team doesn't have any talent coming up the farm system and there are many players on the major league team set to become free agents — including Shohei Ohtani — and they no longer have assets to bring in talent.

Luckily for the Angels, they do have a lot of young players that flew through the minors. Zach Neto and Ben Joyce have made an impact after being drafted in 2022.

Angels first-round pick Nolan Schanuel is also progressing through the minors quickly and will probably be at Angel Stadium sometime next year.

The team will have to work, however, to get some names back on the top 100 prospect list.
