Angels News: Hunter Renfroe Set to Take Paternity Leave from LA Soon
The Angels are expecting their starting right fielder to be away from the team in the near future.
Hunter Renfroe is expected to go on the paternity list very soon as he and his family is expecting a child, according to the Athletic.
In the 58 games Renfroe has played this year, he has been a solid option for the Angels in the middle of their lineup.
Renfroe is currently hitting .252 with 11 home runs and 30 RBIs.
According to The Athletic's Sam Blum, Jo Adell is most likely to be called up from Triple-A Salt Lake City to replace Renfroe.
Adell is the only outfielder on the Angels 40-man roster that is not currently with the team.
The Angels have called up Adell up before, as he was with the team the past three seasons. Once the Angels prospect, Adell has been unable to translate to the big leagues.
Last year, Adell was up for 88 games in which he hit .224 with only 8 homers.
So far in Triple-A this season, Adell is hitting .277 with a Pacific League leading 18 home runs. The Halos are hoping that Adell will finally figure it out in the big leagues.
Other options to fill Renfroe's spot in right field, include Mickey Moniak, who has an OPS of 1.034 so far this season.
Whenever Renfroe has taken an off day this season, Moniak has been his replacement almost every time.
It is expected that Renfroe will hit the paternity list sometime during the Cubs or Mariners series this week.
