Angels News: Insider Questions Anthony Rendon; 'He's Not Handled This Like a Professional'
Members of the baseball community can say a lot of things about the Los Angeles Angels. But nobody can say that the Angels don’t try to win games. They have consistently pursued big-ticket free agents in the hopes of building a winning team, it just hasn’t worked out.
What is fair to say is that the organization hasn’t put their energy into the correct resources however and that has caused them to perform poorly on the field. The Halos haven’t reached the postseason since 2014 and are looking like they will be outside the playoff picture once again this year.
One of those big-ticket free agents that haven’t worked out is third baseman, Anthony Rendon. Since his arrival with the team, it has been an absolute nightmare.
He has not played more than 58 games in a season since joining the team, and his lack of availability has hurt the club. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy, and some have even questioned how he has handled everything.
Recently Angels insider Sam Blum of The Athletic spoke about Rendon, and it was quite frankly a little alarming.
“I don’t want to even get into the stuff he was telling us yesterday in front of his locker. I’m not even gonna repeat some of the stuff”

It seems that the happy days of having Rendon a part of the organization have passed. It’s now become a real issue that the Angels are kind of stuck with.
As the season starts to wind down, it seems that it will be another where Rendon finishes hurt. The team could look to move off his contract over the offseason, but that could cause even more damage to their payroll.
He still has three more years left on his contract at $38 million a season. The organization made a mistake when signing him to a long-term deal, and they are now having to lie in the mess that they made.
