The Jared Walsh story has been a roller coaster of emotions. Walsh has not played for the Halos this season due to intense insomnia and headaches he's been suffering for some time now.

However, little by little, he's getting better, and Halos manager Phil Nevin told OC Register's Jeff Fletcher that Walsh will be playing for the Angel's Triple-A affiliate this weekend.

Walsh told Fletcher he's looking forward to getting back on the diamond.

“I’m very excited,” Walsh said. “It’s been a long road so I’m interested to see how game action goes, but I think I’m ready. I’m looking forward to it. I just want to get a lot of at-bats and see a lot of pitches. That’s the main thing.”

Walsh has been dealing with neurological issues for the better part of a year as he struggled mightily in 2022 after an incredible 2021 season. His symptoms were severe, and he had no answer for it as of recently.

Thanks to Walsh's mother, Lisa found her son a facility in Utah to help him with treating his symptoms. Although it hasn't been an easy road and isn't quite close to 'getting back to normal,' Walsh is on the right track.

“A lot better,” he said. “Just kind of understanding why certain things in my body are going on, getting in touch with people who know what’s going on, who can break it down in simple term. A lot of prayers answered.”

The 29-year-old is set to play in the Salt Lake Bees three-game weekend series; however, Nevin said It could be more than that.

“He’s been down a little over a month now, so he’s probably going to need more than the three games,” Nevin said. “We’ll kind of evaluate it after the three and then see how next week goes.”

More than anything, we hope he gets better each day. We can't wait to see how he performs overall.
