Angels News: Jose Suarez Silences All Doubters in Sunday's Win
For most players in the MLB, a regular season game at the end of the first month of play probably would not hold too much weight. Players are still getting situated and there is still a lot of baseball to be played.
However, he all were pretty much aware that coming into Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Jose Suarez had to prove his worth finally or else he would likely get bumped down to a bullpen spot. Prior to the Angels' 3-0 win, he had given up a total of 31 hits and 20 runs in just four appearances at the pitching mound.
But he knew everything that was at stake and he made sure to come through. Five innings of excellence came from Suarez as he dealt a no-hitter while only allowing two hits and six batters were also struck out at his hand. He really could not have had a better game to remind everybody exactly what he is made of.
Suarez kept his reaction the big win and performance very simple as he was just grateful to help out the team like he'd grown accustomed to before the start of this year.
“I am very happy because I found myself,” Suarez said through an interpreter. “I feel I’m back. I was working on it and I feel I got it.”

LA will now move on to a series against the Arizona Cardinals and with team manager Phil Nevin already having a pitching plan for the week, it's great to see Suarez living back up to the hype.
Speaking of Nevin, few were happier to see his 25-year-old LHP succeed.
“Credit to him,” Nevin said. “It’s hard to take your lumps like that for several starts, and I know he hears everything. (Pitching coach Matt Wise) did a heck of a job with him this week. I was down there watching him. He made some adjustments with some things. I’m proud of him. He pitched his butt off today.”
