Angels News: LA Superstars Dominating AL MVP Odds
Ladies and gentleman, the Los Angeles Angels have a very good problem on their hands. Despite all of the animosity surrounding their bullpen, player health, depth, and ability to hold onto leads, they still are holding onto a 16-14 record one month into the season and their playoff hopes are staying alive.
They have not been elite by any means and members within the organization have been honest about the numerous areas they need to improve in. But we all know the two players that have been taking care if business and those are Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout.
This should come as no surprise to Angels fans as they have been two of the most elite names in baseball for the past couple of seasons. 2023 is proving no different as they both continue to lead the organization in batting average, home runs, and total hits thus far into the season.
One of the biggest debates in baseball has been who is the true leader and best player on the squad. Ohtani may not even finish the season with the Angels but if Trout continues this excellent play with his running mate, there will be quite the argument for him to stay.
We may receive the answer to this question once the year concludes as both Trout and Ohtani have the best odds of taking home the 2023 AL MVP.
Ohtani clearly still has the upper hand here and when you consider the fact that he is younger and brings a pitching element to the table that Trout cannot.
Nonetheless, posing two MVP-level talents is generational for a roster and it will be left up to the rest of the team to fulfill their roles as well.
