It is truly mind-blowing to think that Logan O'Hoppe wasn't even slated to play as much as he is right now. Now, I am looking at the Los Angeles Angels and wondering how different the team's record would look like right now if it wasn't for him.

This is no disrespect to Max Stassi, of course. He was slated to be the starting pitcher for the Angels but has not been present due to a mix of injuries and also personal family matters. O'Hoppe has been the guy asked to fill in that role for the time-being and he's skyrocketed beyond what anybody would have expected.

In early preseason predictions, he was shown some love for the Rookie of the Year award but this was obviously just going off of some professional appearances last season along with his play in the minor leagues. However, following his first appearances as an official rookie with the Halos, he is now an actual favorite to win it.

In 14 at bats so far, he is currently slashing .286/.267/.571 and also has multiple home runs already.

The 23-year-old catcher has completely bought into the system and star teammates Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani love having him around.

He most recently hit a two-run home run in Wednesday's win against the Seattle Mariners and it was big seeing that they vonly won 4-3.

O'Hoppe joined Erica Weston following the conclusion of the match and spoke about his mindset at the plate thus far.

"It was a good pitch to hit," said O'Hoppe. "Like I said before, I try to do my job at the bottom of the lineup. I t helps a lot having this heavy hitters at the top of the lineup. I feel like you don't have to do too much but I got a good pitch and put a good swing on it."

Do not be fooled by his age, Logan O'Hoppe is here to stay.
