It has been a tough season for the Los Angeles Angels. What went from a potentially promising year early on, quickly turned downhill.

The Angels find themselves multiple games back of the final wild-card spot in the American League race and are falling fast. They have dug themselves into a pretty large-sized hole, and things are looking bleak regarding their playoff chances.

Naturally, frustrations have started to mount, and it was all apparent on Monday night as the team got smoked by the Texas Rangers by a score of 12-0. Angels manager Phil Nevin was caught on camera showing some of those frustrations.

The not safe for work lip reading can be found here. Nevin spoke after the game in which the Angels were held to just one hit.

“It’s (lack of) focus, from the first play or the game,” Nevin said. “That’s what I saw. There’s a difference between physical errors and what I consider mental parts. Those happened. I’ll just leave it at that. We let it affect us. The next play is too important to let the last one (affect you). I’ve always said that. We let some things get to us today. And that’s the first time I’ve seen that though. Disappointed? Absolutely. Mad? Yeah. But I know this group in there. They’ll rebound and come out tomorrow. It’ll be better.”

Per The OC Register

Things just haven’t gone the way that the organization hoped after an aggressive trade deadline. The team went out to acquire some pieces to give themselves a chance, but it has spiraled quickly.

To make matters worse, they still have to deal with the impending free agency of superstar Shohei Ohtani after the season. His desire to win likely makes it that he will indeed leave the team as many around the game have predicted.

It’s a really tough spot for the Angels to be in, but there are still games left. They have a sliver of hope remaining, and you never know what can happen.

They are living proof that a few good weeks can alter a season, but the odds are heavily against them.
