Angels News: Manager Phil Nevin Has Full Support of GM Perry Minasian
Despite a rather bleak outlook on the season to this point, Halos GM Perry Minasian spoke to reporters on a bevy of topics about this year's team and what's to come.
When asked about his manager Phil Nevin, Minasian reiterated his faith in the Halos skipper due to the many challenges he's had to overcome with the roster this season.
“Phil’s been great. Going through what we’ve gone through health-wise. For me, the most important thing as far as evaluating managers go is respect, and I think he has the utmost respect of the room.”

Ravaged by poor health in both the pitching and the hitting core, Nevin has done the best that he can with the pieces readily available for his nightly puzzles.
With star outfielder Mike Trout and third baseman Anthony Rendon still on the shelf without any timetables to return, Nevin's choices for his daily lineups have been a struggle to determine.
Though surprising performances from Mickey Moniak and veteran trade piece Mike Moustakas have been encouraging, it hasn't been enough to fully get Anaheim into the playoff push.
Minasian bought at the deadline with the mindset of helping commit to winning and aiding superstar Shohei Ohtani to his first postseason trip.
The Japanese superstar remained bullish on the teams chances to play October baseball, but Minasian's moves to get Moustakas among other pitching pieces for a playoff push haven't exactly paid off.
And, notably, the Angels have lost two more games since Minasian's conversation with the media.
Currently, the Angels sit under .500 and risk their eight consecutive losing season, by far the longest active streak in baseball.
Even if Nevin's not to blame and his job is secure, Ohtani's future with the team remains up in the air.
Suitors across the league will surely make their best pitches to the current runaway AL MVP, but the Halos' slim playoff chances may convince him otherwise.
