The injury bug continues to bite the Angels and it's not taking it easy on the team's star player.

After coming off the injured list from a broken hand on Tuesday, Mike Trout has found himself right back on the mend after one game.

While it may seem weird that a player of Trout's caliber can go back on the IL so fast, the outfielder admitted that he probably was not ready to come back in the first place.

“I wasn’t right,” Trout said on Friday. “I was in some pain, more than tolerable. I thought I could push it, get back out there. I just came in the next day really, really sore. … You saw the swings. They weren’t my A swings. I was just trying to get through it. Probably shouldn’t have. Gave it a shot. It is what it is.” (Via Orange County Register)

After going 1-4 in his only game back from the injured list Trout could not deal with the pain anymore.

He had surgery for his broken hamate bone in early July. The injury was expected to heal in 4-6 weeks.

Trout did not go through a rehab assignment or face any live pitching before coming back. While it was Trout's call to get back on the field, the medical staff never stopped him.

Now the team's best player is most likely going to be out for the rest of the season as the Halo's playoff chances dwindle away.
