At the age of 31, Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout is feeling as good as he has ever felt in his 13-year career. Despite enduring his fair share of injuries, Trout continues to perform at a remarkably high level. His 2023 season hasn't been as great as in years past, but he's still doing enough for the Halos.

Trout's longevity and sustained excellence are truly astonishing. And even now, in his 13th season in the league, he says he still feels like he's in his prime

“I don’t know if there’s an age [to be in your] prime,” Trout said. “But I have a pretty good idea of how my body is, how my swing is, how to prepare myself, just going through everything.

“The more experience you get, the more you learn, but when you get a little older, you gotta start taking care of your body.”

Trout suffered a back injury in 2022, which he missed more than a month, and dodged a big bullet in the process as it could've been career-ending. And in 2021, he only played in 36 games due to a right calf strain. Injuries have halted Mike and the Angels, but he has done his job to overcome them and still compete at a high level.

Although Trout has done his best to remain one of the top players in the league, the Halso have done a poor job in getting him some help. However, this season might be different, as the front office has done a good job of getting him and his fellow superstar Shohei Ohtani some aid.

With Mike Trout leading the charge and the team being healthy, anything seems possible. His unparalleled skill set and unmatched passion for the game make him a true difference-maker. If the rest of the team can rally around him and deliver consistent performances, the Angels have a legitimate chance to make the postseason.

The 10-time All-Star feels good, and his scheduled days off seem to help. Let's hope it stays that way.
