Angels News: Mike Trout Makes History in Loss to Brewers
It seems like even when the Los Angeles Angels take a loss, Mike Trout either gives us some insane highlights or breaks a record some sorts. Well, it looks like he was able to do both of those things on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
At this point in his career, there are very few pitchers that can get the best of him on a nigh-to-night basis. Injuries have committed some highway robberies on baseball fans because we would've been able to watch greatness much more often if he was available in past seasons.
Despite LA losing 5-7, two homer runs and three RBI's came from Trout and when you really think about it, he could've just thrown in the towel. The Halos were down 1-7 heading into the 8th inning but then Trout was able to allow their closer enter the game with two huge homers in back-to-back innings.
But that was not it, he also moved up a rank in the history books with these bombs. At the start of the 2022 season, Trout was 138th all-time with 315 home runs recorded in his career.
After two more hit on Saturday, he is now number 90 with 356 to his name and was able to pass the legendary Greg Vaughn.
Like I said, this is normal for Mike Trout and I fully expect to see even more records broken and big names passed this year as long as he stays healthy. If he does, there is a good chance the season gets extended for the Angels for the first time in almost a decade.
Trout is having another spectacular year with a slash line of .320/.408/.612 on the season thus far. He is looking to defy all odds and make the playoffs along with superstar teammate Shohei Ohtani.
