Mike Trout's 2023 season is officially over. On Sunday, the Angels took away any possibility as the center fielder was transferred from the 10-day to the 60-day injured list.

The Angels season felt like it began to fall apart after Trout fractured a bone in his right hand in early July.

The Halos have gone 25-44 since Trout's injury and now possess the dreaded 'E' next to their name in the Wild Card standings. While they decided to buy at the deadline, the injuries kept piling up and the Angels couldn't play winning baseball when it mattered most.

While Trout returned and played one game against the Cincinnati Reds on Aug. 22, going 1-for-4 at the plate with a strikeout, he has been on the injured list for every other game this season.

It's sadly an all-too-familiar ending to the season for the 11-time All-Star. Trout has struggled with health and injuries in recent years, playing in just 41 total games post All-Star break over the last three seasons.

Trout, who has played his entire career with the Angels, could be on the trading block for the offseason, depending on what both the Halos and Trout decide is best for their relationship.

If the Halos do intend to trade Trout, ensuring his health would maximize the return package, which would assuredly be hefty.
