It is clear that even though the big trade rumors haven't kicked in just yet, every contending franchise has their eyes locked in on him just waiting for a big losing streak to happen so they can put together a bundle for him.

Ohtani has been off to a hot start in 2023 as he is currently posting a .295/.366/.512 and has seven homers already. LA is coming off of a disappointing series loss to the Texas Rangers and are in the midst of another big one against the Houston Astros.

And it's looking like the analysts have wasted no time trying to predict where Ohtani's state of mind currently is. ESPN's Kiley McDaniel went as far as to get the opinions from 26 different MLB executives and one believes that he knows exactly what route the 28-year-old superstar will top and that he has a sneaky plan in place.

"I think he uses the Padres and Mets to run up the price, but he wants to and will go with the Dodgers."

This would be a pretty crazy route for the generational pitcher to take because he knows just how many franchises are going to be after him. The San Diego Padres have been willing to spend as much money as they need to and the New York Mets have one of the biggest markets in the world.

ESPN is slating him to receive a contract worth over $500 million and if he meets with both of these franchises and the are willing to offer him, the Los Angeles Dodgers will have no choice but to match it if they want him.

Ohtani will have all the leverage once free agency rolls around and do not be surprised if he plays his cards in this manner.
