Angels News: MLB Insider Isn't Buying the Shohei Ohtani Trade Rumors
We woke up to some major Shohei Ohtani news on Thursday as ESPN Jeff Passan's said he believes the two-way star could be traded if they're out of playoff contention.
Of course, this isn't the first Ohtani rumor we heard, but the time is nearing for his impending free agency. Nonetheless, there is still a ton of time left for the Halos to get on a streak, but even if they don't, a person within the organization told MLB insider for the New York Post Jon Heyman, the Angels won't pull the trigger, not even in the slightest.
“Zero percent chance,” one Angels person connected estimated the chances of a trade.

The Halos must believe they'll re-sign Ohtani, but the competition will be stiff. The New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, and The San Diego Padres are among the teams favorited to land the 28-year-old Japanese sensation.
If the Angels start to go off the rails, trading Ohtani could be the best option. It would be best to get back as much talent as possible than to lose him for nothing. The Halos cannot put themselves in that position, and I believe they won't.
They're a much better team than years past, and making the playoffs could be the difference between losing Ohtani and making him an Angel for life.
At the moment, it could be a zero percent chance, but that could change if the Angels don't get on a streak. Let's hope this kind of talk stays a rumor.
