Anybody that was not on the Shohei Ohtani bandwagon before this offseason pretty much took the last chance to do so and hopped aboard. He's currently in the most important season of his career by far right now and as long as he continues his generational play, quite the payday will be coming his way very soon.

From day one of the 2023 season, he was already striking out ten batters as he started at the pitching mound. He's already recorded a number of home runs and had the pleasure of LA's new hat as a means to celebrate.

There are very few weaknesses within Ohtani's game that people can point to and seriously think that they negatively impact his squad. He takes pride in being a dual threat at the plate but also as a pitcher.

One ESPN expert by the name of Alden Gonzalez predicts that the superstar will be able to play at a level that we've never seen before and leave the 2023 award ceremony with a ton to his name.

"Ohtani already won a Silver Slugger in 2021, and

Yordan Alvarez

won it in the designated hitter category in 2022. It could come down to those two again this year. The Cy Young might be just as reachable. A Gold Glove? That might actually be his toughest award; But Ohtani certainly has the ability here too. If he earns all three, he'll win the MVP unanimously."

If the WBC champion was able to pull this off, it would not only be his best season ever but it would place among the best seasons by any player ever. A firm look wold have to be taken at the likes of Babe Ruth's and Hank Aaron's best games and the comparisons would be flying.
