Angels News: Nevin Feels Halos' Electric Come From Behind Win Shows Fight
Saturday night was something special for the Angels. Down by 12-9 in the 9th, Shohei Ohtani got the spark going with a solo home run to lead off the inning. Taylor Ward, Mickey Moniak, and Eduardo Escobar hit three singles in a row to load the bases with none out against Astros All-Star closer Ryan Pressly. The tying runs scored on a passed ball and RBI single from Hunter Renfroe and the Halos sent it to extra innings.
After holding the Astros scoreless in the top of the 10th, a whole lot of luck was on the Angels' side when this happened.
The error brought home Trey Cabbage for the much needed walk-off win in Anaheim.
“To say it was needed was an understatement,” manager Phil Nevin said. “If anybody ever says his team doesn’t care, doesn’t fight, doesn’t play hard, I’ll fight anyone who says that,” Nevin said. “They do. They prepare to win. They come to win every day. This has been a tough stretch. We’re not out of it by any stretch. We’ve got another game tomorrow. We’ll enjoy this for a little bit. But certainly, to have one go our way like that could go a long way. I don’t know. But it certainly feels good right now.”

The 13-12 win snapped a 6 game losing streak for the Halos and gave the frustrated clubhouse something to celebrate for the first time in weeks.
Importantly, the fight and heart shown by the club wasn't just found in the 9th inning. In fact, the comeback effort was historic.
“We found a way to come back and win as a team,” veteran infielder Mike Moustakas said. “I think that that proves to all of us in this clubhouse that we can do that and it was a lot of fun the way it ended.”
The Angels will look to keep the good vibes going tonight for the series finale against the Astros. The game broadcast will be featured on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball with first pitch at 4:10 PM.
