Angels News: Perry Minasian Calls Halos Managerial Opening a ‘Very Attractive Job’
After another tough season for the Los Angeles Angels, they will enter the offseason with more questions than answers. The team failed to reach the postseason once again, and their long drought continues.
It’s been almost 10 years since the Halos reached the playoffs, and it’s been a frustrating decade all around. Now the team will also need to find a new manager after letting Phil Nevin go following the underwhelming year.
Many have questioned why the Angels made the decision, especially considering they will now be on their fifth manager since 2018. That is awful turnover for a franchise, and it could see them having some trouble in hiring someone.
However, General Manager Perry Minasian believes that the opening is a good opportunity as he gave his thoughts on the situation.
“I think this is a very attractive job. I think it’s a job that people would love and relish the opportunity to have.”
While the Angels are a prime location, they haven’t used it to their advantage on the field. They have shown a pattern of dysfunction with how things are run, and it has cost them in the long term.
Star outfielder Mike Trout will likely still be around on the roster, but two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani could very well leave. They hardly won with them both on the roster, so things could get bad without Ohtani.
This winter will tell us a lot about this Halos organization, and where they want to go in the future. They need to get things right this winter, otherwise, they could set themselves back even further.
