Angels News: Perry Minasian in No Rush to Choose Next Manager of Halos
Following another poor season, the Los Angeles Angels made the decision to move on from manager Phil Nevin, and they will now begin the search for the next person to lead this team. However, moving on from Nevin may not solve all of their issues, and the Halos have quite a few of them.
Halos general manager Perry Minasian will remain in his position for the time being, but he is on the hot seat. He needs to make the right moves this offseason, otherwise, he will suffer the same fate as Nevin.
As he navigates how to proceed with everything, it seems that the Angels won’t rush into anything. They want to make sure that they hire the right person for the managerial job, so don’t expect anything to happen soon.
“For me, it’s about making the right decision,” Minasian said. “We’re not going to rush in. We’re going to do the work like we always do with every decision we make, with no timeframe in mind.”

The Angels may want to get the hiring process done by the time free agency gets into the swing of things, for their own sake. Most players won’t want to sign with a team without knowing who the manager is, and the team already may struggle to get players to come play in Anaheim.
No matter who is in charge next season, the Angels plan to compete. They aren’t interested in doing a complete rebuild, even if that could be the key to getting them out from under this mediocrity they find themselves in.
“Since I’ve walked in the door, it’s always been about winning here and trying to find a way to win and put a competitive team on the field for the fan base,” Minasian said. “That’s something that I don’t believe will change.”

Minasian will be tasked with trying to win now, while also prioritizing assets down the line. This offseason should be very intriguing, and the entire league will be watching what the Angels do.
