As we wait to see the severity of the UCL tear that Shohei Ohtani suffered, it seems that he is going about things business as usual. This shouldn’t be a shock to anyone who has followed along with Ohtani throughout his career, however.

He just wants to play baseball, and even with the injury, he can remain as a batter. But his two-way abilities are in doubt going forward. If anyone can beat this injury again, it could be Ohtani, but that remains to be seen.

Even Angels manager is waiting to see what happens with his star player, and he gave his thoughts on the situation in the future.

“I’m anxious to see what lies ahead for him.”

The entire baseball world is anxious to see what happens. Ohtani has captivated audiences since he arrived in the big leagues, and nobody wants to see that stop anytime soon.

The hope is that he can avoid another Tommy John Surgery, and rehab the injury. This would be the best-case scenario for everyone involved, including the teams that will try to sign him this winter.

Ohtani would be the next pitcher in line to get the surgery twice, and many players aren't the same afterward. But Ohtani could be the outlier. He is as special as anyone who has ever played the game of baseball, but even he can't predict what will happen.

He was scheduled to become the first $500 million man in baseball history, and while that could still happen, the likelihood has gone down. However, it takes just one team to offer that to him this offseason.

This will certainly be a situation to monitor as we go forward, it will likely have ramifications on the future of baseball. We all hope for the best and hopefully, he can return to the mound sooner rather than later.
