Angels News: Phil Nevin Emphasizes Just How Deep LA’s Roster Could Be
Don't look now; your Los Angeles Angels are on a mini-streak. After losing their season opener, the Angels have won three in a row and will be looking for their fourth win in a row against their division rivals Seattle Mariners.
The Angels sit at 3-1 and are tied with the Texas Rangers for the division lead. It's still extremely early in the season, but the Halos are playing great baseball. Their skipper, Phil Nevin, loves what he sees from his squad and believes this team is deep.
"Yeah, we keep coming at you. A lot of guys, top to bottom, are going to give you a good at-bat. We did that tonight."
So far, things have looked suitable for the Halos. Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani are playing like the superstars they are, Taylor Ward is leading the team in batting average, OPS, home runs, and RBIs thus far, and the overall team is contributing nicely at the moment.
We're still only four games in, but you must love what you see. It's a long series filled with ups and downs, so the Angels must be able to pack that and have more good than bad games.
We were witnesses last season, as LA got off to a great start and, after May, were on a downward spiral for the rest of the season. Halos nation hopes for a more consistent 2023 season, as it is a big year for many involved in the team.
At the moment, we'll celebrate this and take it game by game for the Angels. For their sake, let's hope this keeps up.
