Angels News: Phil Nevin Impressed With Jo Adell’s Dedication to Improving this Offseason
Angels manager Phil Nevin has made it clear that he's a huge fan of Jo Adell this offseason. Nevin has consistently praised the 23-year-old, and thinks it's just a matter of time before Adell breaks onto the scene and helps the Angels win games.
While Adell hasn't exactly had a positive start to his career, Nevin said he's put in the work this offseason, and showed up to camp looking like a "beast."
He made it clear that he's proud of the work Adell has put in this offseason.
"What this guy has done in the last four or five months for me is as impressive as anything he could have done during the season last year," Nevin said. "No vacations. Nothing. This guy didn’t miss a day. I’m really proud of the work he’s doing."
Adell is unlikely to start the season on the 26-man roster, however, if he impresses during his consistent playing time in Triple-A, he should be the first guy to get called-up in the event of an injury.
And when that time comes, Adell will hopefully be ready to take off, and not look back for the rest of his career.
This year feels like his final chance to make an impact on this Angels team, so it's now or never for Adell to make a name for himself in a Halos uniform.
