Through 12 games, your Los Angeles Angels sit at 7-5, landing them in first place in the AL West. Now, LA has slipped up some games, and you could argue they should be better than 7-5, but most Angel fans would still take it.

Rookie Logan O'Hoppe and Taylor Ward have been the unsung heroes for the Angels' offesne in the early part of the season, and we all know about the bats of the superstar duo Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani

The offense has been formidable for the Halos; however, their pitching, specifically the starting rotation, has been great. Angels manager Phil Nevin realizes that and told Angels insider for the LA Times Sarah Valenzuela he likes what he's seen from the starters.

“As far as our starters go, I’m really happy with the way they’re throwing the ball,” manager Phil Nevin said after Wednesday’s win. “It’s a good start to the season, a lot of things to build on for them.”

The star of all stars, Shohei Ohtani, is SHOVING for the Halos, and saying that is an understatement with the way he's been on the mound. Ohtani couldn't be off to a better start, and the ace is also doing his thing in the batter's box.

Patrick Sandoval is also off to a good start. Through two games, he's 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA and has pitched in 11 innings thus far.

Outside of Sandoval and Ohtani, first-year Angel Tyler Anderson, Jose Suarez, and youngster Reid Detmers aren't off to a great start. Between those three starters, only two have made it through five innings, and the bullpen has yet to be their friend in those games.

Nonetheless, Nevin still likes his starters, and I wouldn't be too worried about them just yet. I won't say I love what I'm seeing, but there is a ton of game left and I'm confident they'll figure it out.
