Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout has been out since July 3 with a broken hamate bone. However, it seems like his return is finally upon us.

On Sunday, while the Halos were off due to their Saturday doubleheader, the team made a couple of roster moves, one of them seeming to hint Trout will be returning on Monday.

While the Angels outrighted recently DFA'd catcher Chad Wallach to Triple-A and transferred RHP Jose Marte to Single-A, the most notable move was the team optioning outfielder Jordyn Adams to Triple-A.

That move clears a spot on the roster for Trout.

The Angels discussed calling Trout up for the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday, but decided he wasn't quite ready. However, Angels manager Phil Nevin described his status as "day-to-day," and this move seems to suggest that the day has finally come for him to return to the Halos.

Trout was in the midst of another All-Star campaign for Anaheim, hitting .263 with 18 home runs, 44 runs batted in and an OPS of .862.

If he were to return on Monday — which it sure seems like he is — it will have been about seven weeks since the injury, and he'll be coming back without a rehab assignment.

Considering the Angels are 61-64 and 8.5 games back of the final Wild Card spot in the American League, getting him back as soon as possible is a good idea.
