The 27-year-old, Davidson, has been traded to the Royals early this morning ahead of the trade deadline.

The return is cash considerations which are better than nothing considering he was DFA'd over the weekend.

Davidson came to the Halos in 2022 along with Jesse Chavez from the Atlanta Braves in the trade that sent then-closer Raisel Iglesias southeast.

Both half-years were split up between starting and bullpen innings. Either way Davidson never really had many bright spots when pitching for Anaheim.

In 68.1 innings, he managed a poor 6.72 ERA along with 54 punchouts to 33 walked batters. The poor performance in 2023 just added to the poor campaign eventually leading to his DFA and trade outcome.

Now with the Kansas City Royal being a non-competitive team this year, Davidson should hope to work on things like command and walking fewer batters, something that has plagued his entire career.

This move most likely won't be the last for the Halos as they have already been big buyers by this deadline in acquiring Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez from the Southside White Sox a week ago.

To the more recent move of bringing back some old faces from Colorado in C.J Cron and Randal Grichuck, who was originally drafted by the Angels.

The Angels look to finish strong and compete for a Wild Card spot with these new acquisitions and possibly more to come.
