Angels News: Reid Detmers Says LA has Small Time-Frame to Win
A very frustrating loss for Angel fans on Sunday as they dropped their third game in a row, 2-1. Boston is one win away from sweeping the Halos, after two very winnable games for the Angels.
The offense was ice cold, while the pitching led by lefty pitcher Reid Detmers. Detmers was phenomenal in his third start of the season, and it was his best start going 6.1 innings long.
The 23-year-old spoke to Angels insider for OC Register Jeff Fletcher and told him LA must find ways to win games.
“Obviously we’ve got to come out with more wins,” Detmers said. “Things just aren’t falling away right now. It’s gonna turn around very quickly.”
It's clearly frustrating for Detmers after pitching a great game allowing six hits, two earned runs, one walk and seven strikeouts in 97 pitches.
This was a winnable game for the Halos, as they had plenty of opportunities to bring in runs, and didn't allow a run after the third inning. Unfortunately for LA, they failed to score after the second inning and that was the story for todays game. The Angels only collected four hits, while the Red Sox had seven hits, and were able to minimize the potential damage the Angels could have caused.
We won't have to wait a long to bounce back, Angel fans. Start time for the series finale is at 8:10 PM west coast time. Get ready for some Halo baseball alongside your morning coffee, and hopefully, a win to end the losing streak.
