Angels News: Shohei Ohtani Exits Game Early With Apparent Injury
The Los Angeles Angels were in the midst of the second game of their new series against the Chicago White and it’s a special day just like any other time Shohei Ohtani takes the mound. He had already dealt 101 pitches and only allowed four hits with one run while striking out ten batters
He also had connected on a homer earlier in the game that gave the Angels their first run and allowed them to build up a 2-1 lead by the time the seventh inning rolled around. However, he had to leave in the middle of the sixth inning
"He's coming out of the game. This is the first time all season he has left in the middle of an inning. He's thrown 6.1 IP, 0 R, 10 K, 2 BB. He leaves 2 runners on base. #Angels up 2-0 in the 7th."
The Unicorn remained in the dugout for the entire inning with the Angels' training and medical staff checking over him. He never looked like he was in immense pain but they pulled him out just to be cautious as the initial thoughts from the team were that he had a blister
However, The Athletic's Sam Blum revealed that it was a cracked fingernail that took him out early.

And guess what? Right when Ohtani returned after everybody was scared that he had a worse injury... he hits his 28th home run of the year.
He amazes us every day!
