Angels News: Shohei Ohtani Listed As One of The Biggest International Stars Playing in The U.S.

He's one of the biggest stars in the world!

Since Shohei Ohtani jumped into the spotlight, he has taken everything by storm. The two-way superstar has changed the way that baseball fans look at the game and he has turned himself into the biggest star in baseball. Austin Nivison of CBS Sports made a list of the biggest international stars to come play in the United States and Ohtani of course was on the list.

"Ohtani immediately became a sensation in the United States, dominating on the mound and in the batter's box. As a rookie in 2018, Ohtani hit .285 with 22 homers and 61 RBI. He also produced a 3.31 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 51.2 innings."

Since joining the MLB, Ohtani has put himself on the map. He is easily the most entertaining player around today and it's a big reason as to why many believe that he will receive the leagues first ever $500 million dollar contract this coming offseason.

His ability to both hit and pitch effectively is something that people hadn't seen since the days of Babe Ruth in the early 1900s. Ohtani won the American League MVP in 2021 and you could make the case that he has deserved it every season since. 

He is a superstar at the highest level and is box office. He brings in millions of viewers from all around the world to watch him play and the pressure doesn't get to him. It's honestly incredible what he has achieved in such a short time. 

Playing in the Los Angeles area has been perfect for him as well. The area has a rich Japanese culture so I'm sure Ohtani has felt welcome during his time in the United States. 

His career just got started and he has much more to do. Hopefully we see Ohtani on the biggest stage of the MLB soon because his star power deserves it.
