Over the past year, Shohei Ohtani has seen himself rise to a level of fame that very few professional athletes have been able to claim. He's already been cementing himself as one of the top players to ever take part in the MLB as he inked a New Balance contract and lead Japan to yet another WBC title.

Pay close attention to that New Balance deal because recent statistics show that the 28-year-old may just be the league's most marketable superstar at the moment. AP News has reported that Ohtani has made the most endorsement money out of any of his baseball peers.

Many may wonder how Ohtani could possibly grow his stardom even more, other than winning a World Series of course. He's already performed at his highest level against American superstars in an international tournament and came out on top. However, a recent survey that was predicting the next partner for pop star Taylor Swift had the star pitcher on there so that very well could be the answer.

"At the risk of elevating garbage, just got a press release on the odds of Taylor Swift's next relationship that includes Shohei Ohtani, along with the names you'd expect... How long has it been since an active MLB player was included on this stuff... Baseball IS cool again??" (Via Emma Baccellieri, Sports Illustrated)

Now obviously these are just odds and meaningless predictions but for fun let's say we live in a world where this will happen. Can you imagine these two fanbases combining and all the people around the globe that would be introduced to the generational talent that is Ohtani?

Taylor Swift has been in the music game for decades and she currently boasts around 240 million followers on Instagram. She is one of the most successful artists of all time and has won 12 Grammy's and 14 MTV Music Video Awards.

Swift would also definitely benefit from having a whole new audience listen to her tracks but Ohtani is locked in right now trying to make it to the playoffs.
