Angels News: Shohei Ohtani Releases Statement Following Elbow Surgery, Finally Breaks Silence
Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani officially underwent an elbow procedure on Tuesday. He made an official announcement on Instagram, and finally spoke for himself (or as much as his social media account is himself) for the first time since this whole process began.
Here's what he had to say on Instagram:
I had a procedure done on my elbow earlier this morning and everything went very well. Thank you very much for everyone’s prayers and kind words. It was very unfortunate that I couldn’t finish out the year on the field, but I will be rooting on the boys until the end. I will work as hard as I can and do my best to come back on the diamond stronger than ever. Go Halos!!
It's great to hear that the surgery went well, and per his agent, Nez Balelo, Ohtani is going to be ready to hit on Opening Day of 2024 and will be back pitching in 2025.
For now, he'll attack his rehab this offseason, and focus on his free agency, one that everyone in the entire baseball world will be closely watching.
