Angels News: Shohei Ohtani Unveils Custom New Balance Glove
When we think of the most marketable players in all of baseball right now, big names such as Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman come to mind due to the fact that they headline of the biggest franchises in history. Mike Trout and Bryce Harper also are at the top of the list due to their accomplishments thus far.
However, Shohei Ohtani has just skyrocketed past all of them at this point and that is no disrespect. Those guys are incredible and all MVP-level talent but the dominance that he has displayed in his first five seasons along with the fact that he is coming off of a WBC title, he's the hottest name in the MLB.
Switching gears to the world of footwear, New Balance is a brand that has been putting themselves back in competition with Nike and Adidas. Their styles are starting to flood the market and have been attracting a younger crowd once again. They started making progress when they signed NBA star Kawhi Leonard a few years ago and it was also announced that Ohtani joined the family back in January.
This deal means that the 28-year-old superstar will collaborate with their creative team and work to put together numerous pieces of merchandise under his name. Everybody was really excited to see what potential cleats would release soon.
However, we just got our first look at a custom New Balance x Ohtani piece and it was not shoes, but rather a glove.

Whether Ohtani stays with the Angels or not, his fame will only continue to grow and now New Balance will grow with him. He is an international superstar and has a really cool clothing line dropping more pieces soon.
