Angels News: Similarities Between Shohei Ohtani’s Hot Streaks in 2021 & 2023 Will Shock You

Los Angeles Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani is the best player in the league; anyone who thinks differently is most likely a hater. He can do it all on the diamond, as he is an elite hitter and pitcher. We've never seen anything like him, and we're fortunate enough to witness him day in and day out from the Halo fans' perspective. 

Ohtani has blessed us with his talents since 2018, and he's gotten better year after year. In his six-year career, Ohtani has recorded one MVP that came in 2021, and there are more to come. The next one he could get will likely come this season; Ohtani's 2023 is on pace to mirror or surpass his numbers from 2021. It seemed impossible to do, but nothing he does anymore shocks us. He's on an insane streak as of mid-June, as the numbers he's posting right now are eery similar to his mid-June numbers from 2021.

It's like looking in a mirror. Ohtani's 2021 was out of this world, as he was doing it all on the mound and batter's box. This season has been no different. He finished 2021 with a .964 OPS and currently has a 1.016 OPS. On the pitching side, he finished with a 3.18 ERA with 156 strikeouts in 130 innings, and in 2023, he is at 105 strikeouts in 82 innings, allowing a .178 average against him. 

He hasn't lost a beat and won't lose a beat as he is only 28 years old and is in the prime of his career. Don't take Shohei for granted; we'll never see a talent like him in our lifetime.
